So I got engaged...

True story.

Remember that girl that came out of nowhere and completely turned my world around?
Yeah, I asked if she wouldn't mind getting married too much and she said yes.

Here is the story...

Katie happens to love country music, the Grand Ole Opry and just Nashville in general so I couldn't think of a better place to ask her.

We headed down to Nashville (our future home) early Saturday morning. I had the ring in my pocket and had to be patient for the whole six hour drive. It was tough but I kept it cool for the most part.

We get to the Opry, buy self guided tour tickets, and started looking around. It was pretty rad knowing that I was in the same places that so many huge stars in music have been. With this tour, you could go anywhere you wanted. We started in the main auditorium and this place was giant.

We headed backstage and then onto the actual stage. We got our picture taken on the circle where all of the performers stand. We stood in the same place as Patsy Cline, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, and so many more. As this was going on, one of her favorite Patsy Cline songs was playing over the PA, which I had nothing to do with it. It just made it that much more perfect.

We walked around backstage and I stopped us and told Katie about how instead of helping my Papaw with something the other day, I was actually having lunch with her dad and getting the okay from him and his wife. Hearing that I think she knew something was coming, plus I was shaking because I was so nervous.

I pulled out the ring and got down on my knee, held her hand and simply asked "Will you marry me?"

She said yes :)

A family on the tour had been walking by and stopped to congratulate us and take pictures for us.

That's the story about how I asked my gorgeous gorgeous girl to spend her life with me.

August 28 2010 is the day that I will be marrying my best friend and then becoming the happiest guy in the world.
